Fleet Maintenance & Diagnostic Support

Downtime costs money.                                   Our fleet maintenance plans are designed to reduce breakdowns, improve reliability, and give clear, informed repair decisions — not to sell unnecessary work or quick fixes.                                     

We support professional operators who rely on their machines daily, using structured maintenance and advanced OEM-level diagnostics to minimise guesswork and wasted spend.

What diagnostics mean?

Diagnostics are an investigative process using live data and system analysis.
They help identify likely causes of faults but do not guarantee fault resolution, particularly on older or heavily worn machines.

Why Use Springfield Tool Merchants Contracts

 

Do diagnostics guarantee a fix?

No. Diagnostics are an investigative process. They help identify likely faults but cannot guarantee resolution, especially where multiple or intermittent issues exist.

What diagnostic equipment do you use?

We use professional and OEM-level diagnostic systems (including Jaltest where applicable), allowing access to fault codes, live data, and system testing.

Are repairs included in the plans?

Some plans include capped repair labour or parts allowances. Repairs outside those limits are chargeable. Full details are provided in the service agreement.

What machines are covered?

Standard mobile plant up to 3 tonnes unless agreed otherwise. Larger or specialist machines may require revised pricing.

What happens if a machine is uneconomical to repair?

We will advise accordingly. We reserve the right to stop work where continued repair is unsafe or uneconomical.

Worried about expensive callouts?

There’s no extra cost for callouts, with each tier of FMD support having a maximum number per year. Just reach out to our live support team in the event of a breakdown and we’ll take care of the rest.

Falling behind on a job due to a breakdown?

Our FMD support keeps your machines within their service cycles and looked after, saving you from unpleasant surprises when you’re on the job. Higher-level support contracts come with a correspondingly higher priority in the event of a breakdown, with 24-to-72-hour callouts depending on your level.

Is your machine out of its service cycle?

If a broken-down is outside of its service cycle, our FMD support allows us to carry out a full plant maintenance service while it is being repaired, depending on your contract level. This creates a new service cycle for the machine, ensuring it won’t go out of service again.

Worried that you’ll pay extra due to a machine being sat for a while?

Not to worry, our FMD support can be set up for machines whether they are in operation or not for maximum efficiency.
